when we initally arrive in Halifax we plan to hire a car for a couple of weeks and then go onto purchase a car, we don't really want to buy a car straight out, we'd rather have the option of being able to purchase one on finance. Would finance be an option to someone with no Canadian credit history? We'd obviously be able to provide UK credit hsitory but will this help??

Hi
We arrived in Canada with no credit history and purchased a new Toyota from a dealership, we had to put down a larger deposit than we would have in the UK but had no problems at all, all of our income is derived from the UK. Make sure you bring with you proof of no claims bonus or you could be paying a lot for insurance. Good Luck.
