PSP compatibility
Yes its been asked before, yes its in the wiki...BUT
Nothing seemed very conclusive and there is much conflicting info.
Will Canadian bought games work in a UK spec PSP?
Please, dont guess or speculate, but if you know, can I get a definative answer. Someones happy birthday rests in your hands

Perhaps you should buy the person in question some hair straighteners instead?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regional_lockout
The PSP does have partial regional lockout, and uses the same regions as DVD. As of February 2006, the lockout is only used for UMD movies and not for games, although Sony has hinted it is up to the developers if they want to include region protection in their games. As of February 2007, copies of Battlezone for the PSP that are released in certain countries are found to be region protected, however it is unknown if there are other region-protected PSP games in the market.

I brought my sons UK PSP over here, bought him one game to try, didn,t work !!!! :curse:
I looked into why not, and the games are apparently region coded like your DVD's, what a lot of nonsense !!!!! :curse::curse:
So he is stuck with about 4 games for his UK PSP and about 30 for his UK PS2
Hope this helps
Eddie
ADD ON
Just read the other peoples posts, and a few say the games do work, well how come I cant get my sons PSP to play Canadian games, I have updated the software and still didn,t work

Re: PSP compatibility
Son has a UK PsP and so fall everything plays on it, UK games & even Canadian UMD's so not sure what is the correct answer.
All I can suggest is perhaps you rent first, try that way and you only loose your rental if all goes tits up.
