Default Processing time and file transfer

Mr Miller, Observing and others,

Received my assessment letter dated May 16, 2002 w/ the medical forms. Required to attend a personal interview and file will be transferred to LA. My application is for independent category. My questions are:

1. From other posting and the letter. The actual interview date is approximately in May 2003?

2. If I decide to transfer my file to Singapore. How many more months (or yrs) will be added to the waiting time. Is my application considered new and will be assessed again most probably under the new law?

3. Is there a possibility that additional documents will be required to bring in the interview or send (to the consulate)before the interview (from now until just before the interview)?

Thank you in advance.

1. Looks like your interview will be scheduled sometimes in the Spring/Summer of 2003

2. If you transfer your file to Singapore now then your process will start almost
from the scratch, although you will keep your original submission date. Regardless
where your interview will be held and decision made you will already be assessed
under new law and selection criteria in force at the time of decision is such is
made after 2002, although if you applied before December 17, 2001 you may be
subject to slightly lower pass mark.

3. Yes, it always remains the possibility.

" Once we have transfered your file, the Canadian Consulate General in Los Angeles will send you a letter convoking you to interviewand advising you of the date and time of that interview(Note: This letter will give you approximately 2 months prior notice of the interview date)"

Above is what my letter of assessment says about the interview schedule. File transfer to LA is w/in 7-10 months.

My time line
AOR - Oct 19, 2001
Assessment Letter - May 16,2002
