Vanity plates or "tribute" cars? The latter always, the former maybe not, not if they make passers-by laugh. Usually, of course, they're pathetic; dick waving, IGO 469, gloating, WAS HIS, references to iced hockey teams not owned by the driver 02ML09, conversely the name of the owner of the plate, "DJ BINT". DJ BINT though left me puzzled for ages, I thought it was, maybe, Chris Moyles' girlfriend but, no, it just belonged to Doug Bint.
