I looked into the cost of a drug plan/health insurance. All seem to cost a bout the same and a good source is Blue Cross http://www.useblue.com/asp/homepage.asp
If you have your own business, you can offset it as a legitimate business cost. Also, when you file your taxes, make sure you include all medical and dental costs that you have paid which are not covered by a plan, this includes prescription charges etc. They are allowable expenses.
It is well worth getting an accountant to look at your return if you can afford it they - they can save you a lot of money and their costs can also be a write off if you have a business.
Hope that helps

If you plan to work for an employer you will probably get health benefits which normally include prescription drug plan.
some plans are non contributory (employer pays 100%), others require you to pay a nominal monthly charge. The insurance itself can be 100% fee free drugs or you may be required to pay a small fee for each prescription, perhaps $5, which sure is heaps cheaper than $40 or $50 for some prescriptions.
good luck in Toronto
