Hey everyone.
Ok, bare with me a sec. My scenario is this:-
I plan on moving to Canada in Feb/March 2010 on a bunac student visa and work (hopefully) as a legal assistant/PA/clerk (whatever you want to call it) which is skill level B.
I have been frying my head with all the different routes to become a PR, and my plan was based upon a student bunac visa, followed by a non student bunac visa then a TWP and then apply for PR.
Recently, however i took the federal skilled worker test online and if i complete one year of fulltime employment as a legal PA and apply as a FSW after that year i would score 71 points. This seems to good to be true to me, because i didnt realise the fastest way to become a PR was right in front of my eyes.
So after a year, say March/April 2011, when i apply as a FSW, how long would it take to be processed if i applied inside CA? Is there any catches i havent noticed? It seems way too easy to me, i feel like i've definitely missed something.
Any advice would be appreciated.

My only contribution to this would be, if you can avoid having your PR visa processed through the London High Commission, do so. I applied for my PR visa in August '06. It took them until March '09 to say they were ready to begin processing it and could I confirm all the paperwork they'd already been sent by mid May. It's now mid June and I still haven't heard anything, let alone had a provisional yes or no. And this is all with the "help" of an immigration lawyer.
I've heard of people getting their PR visas processed a lot quicker going through other Canadian Consulates.

The drawback I can see is actually getting a job.
