Default PR processing and EA ...simultaneus?

I applied for PR around mid march 2002, and presently one company is willing to sponsor for my EA.

Is it possible to get EA while my PR application is in?

Need not to bother, I got my answer.

Thanks to folks who replied similar question in past.

For a new reader, YES, you can apply for EA after your application for PR is in processing.

One can always apply - the question is how likely EA application will be approved
when PR application is in process. The answer is - not likely in many cases.

Default Mr Miller : Why not?

I have a HR permit for another 22 months but my EA will ned to be renewed in 10
months. I submited my papers 2 weeks ago so most likely I will have to apply for an
extension of my EA. Should I worry? Thanks David

If you are already working in Canada on EA then pending PR application will not have
negative impact on your EA extension application later.

Default Clarification please...

Sorry for jumping in, but what's that "I have a HR permit for another 22 months"? Do
you meant that you applied for PR 22 months ago?

What is the case that is not likely? What is their concern? From CIC's web page, the
EA and the immigration page are linked. That shows that for all the people have
offer, immigration is possible. Why stop them?

Immigration law deals with all kinds of migration - permanent and temporary. This is
why pages are linked.

Canadian immigration law clearly states that all applicants for non-immigrant visas
are deemed to be immigrants unless they can prove otherwise. If they cannot prove it
than non-immigrant visa application must be rejected, period.

Person who has PR application pending will have extreme difficulties proving that
s/he is not an immigrant and that s/he will leave Canada upon expiration of a
non-immigrant visa.
