Default PR card and passport

Do i still need to take my UK passport and get an I94 to cross into the US now i have a PR card

Yes, you still need an I94W and your UK passport. Your Canadian PR card might be useful for showing intent to leave the US, i.e. that you have ties to Canada, but not for anything else.

Afaik, the PR card itself lets you go visa-free to Mexico (but I don't think Brits need a visa for there anyway), and visa-free transit of the UK (again, not a benefit for British PRs of Canada)... I'm not aware of other advantages.

thanks for the reply...i was hoping that i would not need an I94 anymore..my passport is filling up

You will have to wait until you can get a Canadian passport.
