Hi
I am hoping someone can help and provide some info for me, apologies if this has been asked many times before.
Myself, wife and 6 yr old daughter are considering moving to Canada. I work in IT and have over 10 years experience as a 3rd line engineer / system administrator. I also have numerous IT qualifications along with a university degree
My questions are:
1 - My best way into Canada would be via the skilled workers program?
2 - What can I realistically expect to earn? Currently my UK salary is £45-50k - dependant on bonus
3 - I am told Toronto is the IT hub of Canada so this would be best place to get a job in IT ?
4 - If we take Toronto as an example, what should someone be earning to live a comfortable life? by this I mean - rent / utility / medical / food bills paid with say $1k left to play with each month
My wife would also look to work eventually but initially it would just be me. She is a qualified teaching assistant - not sure if there is a Canadian equivalent?
Any links to info that would help my research would be appreciate
Many Thanks in advance

I work in a room full of computer contractors west of Toronto. I think it fair to say that they do not make enough to buy a house here on one wage, a wage of perhaps $60/hour (a little over $100,000/year) so comparable to your current income.
Houses can be seen here: www.realtor.ca
