What they should be offering is:

3 months of newcomer coverage to bridge the waiting period until you are elligable for provincial coverage for you and your dependents

Suplimental health insurance to cover some of the many things that OHIP does not cover both before and after OHIP coverage kicks in.

The wiki has several articles on medical coverage. The big things for most people are Dental, Prescription Costs, Paramedical (Physio, Chiropractic etc), and the various % levels of the coverage and annual permissible coverages. Eye tests and glasses are probably in there too. If you have a decent level of coverage for Orthodental treatment then you probably have a decent package overall

My benefits cover 80% of most dental costs, there is little bit of orthodental for the kids (up to $2000 total lifetime coverage IIRC), but there is a maximum of $500 a year for physio etc, covered at 80%, which I can tell you aint enough to cover the full cost if you actually need to use it Still, a jobs a job right?

As prescription drug costs to the list of things it doesnt cover. And Physio.
I never quite understood why chiropractic is partially covered but not physio. IMO, chiropractic borders on voodoo.
