Looking at Indeed, there seems to be a few positions available in the Ontario, where many of the houses are built with brick, but not many in other Provinces.

You may want to look into certification by the Province, to help you with Express Entry (Skilled Trades), if it's available.

Although they are timber frame and there is only one layer of brick. But you still need the skills to build those walls.
I've not noticed any brick houses. Brick facing, or stone at the bottom, or stucco work.

I was told some years ago by someone who was studying materials for house building that there is a problem with bricks in Canada.

Seemingly brick cannot withstand years of extreme temperature changes, and snow and water can get into the pores in the brick. Expansion and contraction of the frozen water causes breakdown of the brick structure

Most areas of Canada do not seem to have brick works

In addition, there is a suggestion that bricks cannot be used in high seismic zones ............... ie, BC in particular.

No doubt it can but most of the quality houses I've lived in around Toronto are brick built. I lived in a brick house built in the 1950s that was solid as a rock and one built in the 1860s that had foundation issues but none with the brickwork. All the houses that have stood for a while are brick. I don't think that's because stick built houses necessarily can't last but because they're not intended to; the roof is good for 15 years, you might replace that twice and then the building is toast. All that remains after that is the plastic shell.

I think it a fair guess that my car will last longer than Brampton's houses.

Peterborough has many old brick built houses. There was a fire in the mid 19th century that destroyed much of the downtown and a bylaw was brought in saying that any new buildings had to be made of brick.

Perhaps the OP might get work restoring old buildings?
