Hi,
I've been trying to get some information about the entire immigration process and i've read in a few places that in some cases, if the applicant has enough points, but the immigration officer does not find him/her suitable, PR can be denied and vice-versa. I was hoping someone could enlighten me on this respect. What could cause such an assesment?
Any insights would be appreciated.

hi!
yes, that can happen like for example, if you have the points but you or someone in your family suffers from a handicap or inherent disease that would cause a burden on the Canadian health system. in cases like that, the immigration officer can withold giving you immigration rights into the country. they also can look at your police records, credit-worthiness, amount of cash you are bringing in to the country, etc. on the whole, though, if you have the points, you are half way thru! hope that helps!
