Has anyone any experience in flying this commuter airline?
Just booked my onward journey after QM2 from New York to Toronto. Flying from Newark to Toronto City Airport (Island).
They were much cheaper then the Air Canada offering.
Also, does the City Airport have the required staff for landing?
Cheers,
Ian

I got a buddy that lives downtown and uses them for business all the while, he always raves about them plus how convenient it is (he is at york quay).

Can you land at Toronto City Airport? I really don't know. May be an idea to find out. They have a good reputation, we overlook the airport and see them landing constantly, plus they're expanding rapidly.

I don't quite understand - it's classified "airport of entry" - i.e. they have CBSA officers to meet international flights - but under immigration services it says "none"...
Edit: oh, the CBSA folk there only deal with general aviation - and yours is a scheduled flight? Hmm...

So is it just primary screening? Would you be sent somewhere else to land? Would they have to call for someone else to process you?

If they let international flights land there, especially a commuter service from NYC, then they must have some sort of entry control otherwise it would turn into a nightmare of questionable folks picking it as their point of entry from the US. They can't be presuming everyone on the flight is either a US or Canadian citizen and therefore doesn't need a visa.

Thanks all for replies.
Like Wizzard said it would be a very large short sight by Immigration Canada if they didn't have the required personnel to process persons requiring VISA's.
I'm going to contact them to double check though. I would assume if nobody was around they would get someone over from Pearson? I wouldn't be very popular
I'll let everyone know outcome.

I haven't been on it since the US flight started but I doubt if there are immigration officials on the island. Border officers, yes, but not anyone that can do the landing process. They'd be twiddling their thumbs 99.9% of the time.

I've used Porter a couple of times for Ottawa-TO trips and the rave reviews it gets are wholly justified.

That, I do not know. I would imagine that Porter's customer service people do, or could find out (from what I've seen of their customer service, they probably would, too).
