I'm just wondering how many more will vote. I think that the results won't change anymore.

Maybe it hasnt occured to you that people are voting for you because you are a smartass, not because you are a woman? Or are all those who voted for Dan doing it because hes from the Labanon, or for Glas cos hes Scottish! I had no idea this forun had so many preducided members! :scared: :p

The poll will end just before 9am EST tomorrow. Still surpprised how close it has been!

But you have to admit.......I do whine very very well. It's called "effective whining" a Canadian phenomena.......... :D

Brits are known globally for complaining, but Canadians REALLY know how to whine big style.

Maybe there should be "Whining for Beginners" course for new immigrants??

I'm a grouch not a whiner ... I haven't fully mastered the slopy shouldered attitude yet ... I think they teach it in high school.

Ah......all one in the same.....just mincing words here.....although I will say yuo really really are the master of grouchiness (is that a word).....you could combine whining/grouchy together in the course for new immigrants........

I can't imagine a better person to teach the course....."the theory and practice of whinning/grouchiness"...... :D

No there's a big difference ... the Scots are naturally grouchy, it's part of our national character ... whining is on a different level.

To grouch is to complain ... to whine is to blame your own shortcomings on the world in general....

grouch n.
1. A habitually complaining or irritable person.
2. A grumbling or sulky mood: in a grouch about the long line for tickets.
3. A complaint; a grudge: had only one grouch against the landlord.

whine v.
1. To utter a plaintive, high-pitched, protracted sound, as in pain, fear, supplication, or complaint.
2. To complain or protest in a childish fashion.
3. To produce a sustained noise of relatively high pitch: jet engines whining.

There's a difference :D

No. You can't.

You cannot ask the new immigrants to do the grouchy-course in Calgary AB and the whining course in Victoria BC. That's too far apart.

....the courses would be combined as one course in two parts - first part - theory - how to be an effective grouch/whiner; the second part - how to put the theory into practice.

Glas.....would travel across Canada teaching this course to new immigrants.....all on his penny of course......out of the goodness of his heart..........

I can see this joke really bombed - I'll have to try harder.

What a load of potatoes you're trying to pass here. The common denominator on both definitions is "complain".......may be on a different level......but still achieves the same goal with the same definition. :D
