Outlook

We speak to one of 48 British police officers who have recently started a new life in Canada and find out why a different accent can be useful when it comes to keeping law and order.

Everyone's coming out to chat to the UK officers in Calgary at the moment. There was an article in the Guardian last week aswell, and local stations are interviewing the Brits too. I think there are enough here now to be making some kind of impression here in Calgary (hopefully a good one ). I think by the end of 2008 10% of the force could be ex-UK. And I think the British press may finally be cottoning on to just how many officers have left the UK for Canada, Australia and New Zealand in the last three years. They are even asking why ....

I met a man from Cochrane a week or so ago. He was a British Expat who had been here for 40 years or something. He was complaining about all the Brits moving to Cochrane ......... and how they all seemed to be b****y police!

I think I know - or know of - ten new families in Cochrane that are related to CPS ! Four from Scotland, one from Wales and rest from England. Told you the Brits were taking over Cochrane

Don't worry Ann about Cochrane, I have heard Okotoks is worst than us for british expats. But that may end soon as Okotoks stops building new houses and we still five major developments to start/finish
