hi,
does anyone know if you submit a pnp application through the employer direct stream can you change employers mid way after the application has gone in? My OH is a mechanic but he is getting about 4 hrs per day in the dealership where he is currently working and its not worth a damn to us with three kids but we are almost ready to submit our PNP application and dont want to submit it with the current employer's name on it if it is going to make a difference to our application? We would be better off trying to find another employer, get an LMO and start back at square one again....working up to the 6 months with same employer. Anybody any advice on this one?

So is your husband on a TWP?
Why not just apply for PR?
I am not sure if this is relevant to you, but I came to wpeg having applied for PNP from the UK. Essentially I was on a TWP. Having been in the country a few months I submitted my PR papers.
I also changed employers for similar reasons as you are looking at, I had to get another TWP for the new position, which was eventually ended when I got my PR card.

Hi, I thought we would be quicker by applying through the PNP programme. i dont know if we are eligible to apply directly for PR? Do you think this is an option? We are here six months and he is a mechanic. Anyone else any advice on this....would be greatly appreciated as it just doesnt make sense to stay in this particular job under the circumstances. Yes we are here on a TWP and he will need another LMO if he changes jobs but that should be easily obtained because there is a shortage of his trade here, (hopefully) So sorry that he accepted this job offer cos he had others also and we thought going with a large company was the way forward but turns out it was a big mistake!!!!

Thank you Former Lancastrian. From reading briefly this link it looks like you have to be working for the same employer for 6 mths before you apply so i would imagine if you change jobs after you apply then your documentation will have to be re-submitted with the new employer, etc. etc. bloody catch 22 situation here. Thanks.

when we went throught pnp from a TWP in manitoba you needed a letter from your employer after 6months saying that if you got PNP they would give you a permanent job.I am almost sure that when we went from PNP to PR they asked if we were at same employer.

..again..in the same line.
Yes, needs to be the same employer, so Linda is right..he would have to accumulate another 6 month with new employer to apply for PNP.
It can be switched "easy" (w/o LMO) once nominated...which I think is what snowshoveler is saying, as he did apply for PNP from outside before arriving.
I would not say that LMO's are easy to get..just think about the trouble you had the first time around. It takes a while to get LMO's approved and during that time.. he would earn nothing..which is less than a 4 hrs pay?
Kids makes it harder to survive for a while on less...but I still see it as the best option to stick with same employer.
Going to CIC doesn't help a thing in my eyes. HRSDC or Employment standard will give the employer a slab on the finger and maybe make it less likely for him to be able to hire foreigners in the future..but not sure it will help you.
Talking to the boss and friendly reminding him on his promise and maybe pointing the foreman out making overtime and asking for a fair share...I could see that worth the try.

Thanks, taking all the above into consideration there is perhaps light at the end of the tunnel. i will keep him focused and we will stick with it. As anyone who has followed my previous posts knows, we were a long time waiting for the damn LMO in the first place so its just a pity that it has to end like this but the minute the 6 mth timeframe has arrived we are ready for submitting that application online. in meantime will bear with it and say nothing until after the application has gone in. thanks for all the comments and very useful advice as always.
