Hello, I am after any information/advice on the situation for plumbers in Canada, the forum on this site about working abroad seems more based about working in Oz, so any one who has made the move or has any good info, basically regarding wages, UK qualifications in Canada, any further training required once in Canada, any thing else that would be considered useful. I have looked at the Red Seal program so realise that I will have to in the future challenge that exam.
I have recently passed my Level 2 Plumbing and am starting the Level 3 in September, along with any other courses I can manage, ie : Water Regs, Un-vented systems, Solar, Under floor , etc, I am looking at going to Labrador City.
Thanks for any help you can give,
Pete

Hi Pete, answers to your broad based questions will no doubt be numerous. Could I direct you to the WIKI above, where many of your questions will not only be answered, but will lead you to look at further info contained there. I would also suggest that you "google" the Alberta Building Trades Council, for wage rates applicable to the construction related trades.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Pete,
Lab City will be a little colder than Oz!
I got this from google. Might help? Info specific for Newfoundland and Labrador.

Cheers for the replies, I did have a look at the Wiki piece and have been in touch with the plumbers union in St John's, I was just after people's experiences with their initial move into Canada's job market and the day to day working practices in the Canadian plumbing industry
