Check out Wildly immigration, very good company. I had my introduction as my partner and I are toying of the idea of immigration. I travelled to Canada in 2004 for one year and worked, loved the country so much and missed it from day one when I returned. I hope I will make it out there but undecided on where to settle to as I really don't want us moving all over the place and taking a longtime to settle. The east would be good to get back to see family and for family to visit. The west is beautiful with the mountains but really up to the individual. Does anybody have any opinions on where to settle in Canada if they had a choice? Some of my friends in Canada said wages were good in Alberta but this could be reflected by higher costs, don't quote me on that just a guess. Toronto is a nice city sitting on the lakes but huge in size and a concrete jungle, find if you like that of course. Not sure on how long it would take to immigrate but in exactly same situation as you guys. We are on a four/five year window though. Don't deal with visa by yourself always bring in professional more chance of getting through, not like the UK! One of the reasons we want out of here, don't are too wide open and not looking to shut. My work with my dad in his own business we work about 50-60 hrs, I work most Saturdays. My wife is Polish, she works hard but struggles to find a career job, very frustrated as she wants to be more independent. Too much work and no play now, not good since we are hoping to start a family in the near future. Hope to hear from people and all the best.

Immigration Canada do not care whether you have used a consultant or not.
Applications using a consultant are processed using exactly the same criteria and timescale as those which are "DIY".
If your application is fairly straightforward, then it is easy to do it yourself (as we did) and saves you a lot of money which you may well need once you get here.
As two professionals, married for a long time, no dependents, enough funds, provable work history, no convictions, job offer and TWP in hand, etc, there would have been no benefit for us using a consultant at all.
If you have issues with your background or family circumstances and there are likely to be complications, then a good consultant can help a lot and is worth the money.
That seems to be the consensus on this site as long as I have been contributing.

I would definitely agree with the view that there is no need for a consultant if you have a straight forward case . The process was time consuming but not difficult. As others have already stated if your husbands occupation is on the approved list get the application in quick as it may not be on next years list and then you can decide where to live. Good luck.
