Hi everyone
So I thought my puppy was past the chewing the bed stage. She went through 3 in the UK (including ones that are meant to be good for chewers) and then she had a plastic one - it was massive and chewed around the edges so we got rid before we flew over.
So we couldn't find any plastic ones here - so bought her a big Kong one - like a big cushion. Well she has done well... it's lasted over a week.
I can't find any plastic dog beds! I've trawled several shops and even looked on amazon.ca - they just don't seem to stock them.
Nothing else is suitable - I am done with wasting money.
Can anyone help? know anywhere that does the plastic dog beds that you can get anywhere in the UK? I am in Calgary.
Cheers!

Would it be cruel to spray it with that stuff that stops them chewing?
We have just had new windows and doors and our puppy got his lovely mouth around one of the door trims - luckily I caught him before the teeth went in, and I chucked a load of Franks Red Hot Sauce - extra hot (you can put that s**t blah blah blah) on both sides. (Didn't have any no chew spray to hand)
Looked like a bloodbath but he's not touched it since

Here you go - google is your friend
Nearest store is BigAls (also online) http://www.bigalsonline.ca/dogs/perl...-bed-blue.html
http://ca-en.hagen.com/Dog/Home-and-...ort/Beds/D5731 you can get them in Calgary - http://ca-en.hagen.com/WhereToBuy
http://www.renspets.com/m-perla-pet-bed.html Delivery by Canada Post
Have you seen the rip-stop waterproof dog beds? http://www.mammothoutlet.ca/outdoordogbeds.htm
Or a flat mat bed: http://www.petonly.ca/Precision_Snoo...054-740010.htm
From experience I have found that dog's that chew past young (teething) puppy stage normally do so because they are bored - have you tried giving him a kong or a hollow chewable (nylon?) bone filled with peanut butter and then frozen (takes them ages to get it out), anything that will keep his mind (and mouth) occupied?
Hope that helps a bit anyway and you manage to get something suitable.

You are most welcome.
I usually call first to make sure they have it in stock...
Glad you are sorted anyway.

Who would have thought getting another dog bed would be so much bother? maybe dogs in Canada don't chew
Mine has toys and nyla bones etc and she still chews her bed. Unless it's nyla or kong we don't buy them any more. She got a bone from a friend for christmas - the ones with the nubs on... we took a guess at how long it would last before she ripped it. I won. I guessed 45 seconds... it was 42!

well only cos the sauce is red and splashed up the side of the door looked a bit weird lol.
He licked it once - ran off and has not gone anywhere near it since. Seems pretty fool proof to me

Am I mean? When my dog was a pup she slept in a cut-down cardboard box, which she used to chew with impunity when she was teething.
When she grew out of that, or at some point I don't really remember, we simply put her "dog blanket" in a corner we wanted her to use as a bed, and she slept on that .... Or not .... Depending on her mood.
