Macleaod Trail is also a good place to stay.
We have stayed in both as well as downtown.
It all depends what you want out of the trip.
PM me if you want more specific advice\tips.

Julie, you need to narrow your search. Canada has six time zones. Just the two provinces of British Columbia and Alberta, taken together, are the size of Europe excluding Russia.
I've looked at your previous posts to refresh my memory about your situation. I've been reminded that your husband has experience with fertilizers, etc.
I did a Google search for jobs in that field. I found a website called AGcareers.com (obviously an abbreviation for agricultural careers). On that website I saw jobs advertised in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario. I found it interesting that there were no jobs advertised for points east of Ontario.
Okay, so now we've narrowed it down to five out of ten provinces. That's still a lot of territory to consider, but at least it's a start.
Just off the top of my head, I happen to know that ADM (Archer Daniels Midlands) has a fertilizer manufacturing plant in Lloydminster, a town that straddles the Alberta / Saskatchewan border, more or less due east of Edmonton.
Motel Village, which Butch has mentioned, is in Calgary, Alberta. But I'm not convinced that Calgary is the most appropriate city in which to look for work. As a province, Alberta may offer something. But, besides Lloydminster, which I've already mentioned, the oil refining plants, etc., are up around Edmonton.
And then of course there’s Ontario, the province in which most of Canada’s manufacturing facilities are located.
We’d probably be able to help you more once you’d narrowed your target zone down to, say, a 4-hour driving radius.
I'm sorry if some of your previous posts have provided the necessary clues and I've missed them.

I too was unsure were Julie was looking to settle. On perusing posts I found a mention of Calgary hence my recommendations.

I know there is somewhere on the road between Lethbridge and Medicine Hat thru Taber that there are a set of labs on the road and my friend saying it was agricutural research - but for the life of me cannot remember what it was called.
Maybe Jusy might have heard of this

I looked through www.jobbank.gc.ca
Found 2 places in Alta. - North Edmonton and Grande Prairie
looking for Field techinicians and Enviromental Techs.
On the job bank site clink on the Engineers, Architects ,It ,Natural Science
section. Choose Alberta. You find the jobs on page5 and page 8
You could look through other provinces as well.
Good luck.

I checked the job bank just now and the Grande Prairie one is gone.
The one in north Edmonton is still there , job no:2567154
Job title ,Material testings tech. Will train and no degrees needed.
This site is updated every 2 days, its worth checking regularly
for jobs. My brother found a hotel manager job in Banff from the
this site ,he is 58, where as Vancouver hotels won't hire him because they
want younger people. I am happy to say that now he is happy working in a
well known hotel in Calgary and the staff there are well treated. Free taxi rides for staff that are on night shifts.
I find that this site is reliable in job finding. A friend found a job at UBC as
as a dish washer for 13.50/ hr , 3 yrs ago and now his gets 16.00/hr because
it is unionised.
Good Luck,
Yoong
