Angry moose harass hikers on Okanagan Mountain, Kelowna.

The snow line gets lower: mountains above Okanagan Mountain.

Railway trestles: post 2003.

Trees: some survived the 2003 fire.

Rich.

Thanks - I really want to see a moose (apparently there are some in Red Deer but I guess you have to get up really early to see them )

Oooh! Oooooh!!! We saw TWO moose today!

We went up to the Kananaskis Lakes, and driving back down that road I noticed a movement in a parking lot as we drove by. I thought I saw bushes move and what looked like a large animal eating them, so persuaded hubby to turn round and go back to see, and there they were!

So Cool!! Didin't have a camera this time, but it was cool to see them.

In Kananaskis now we have seen a grizzly bear, a pair of wolves, a coyote, pikas, elk, long-horned sheep, .... and now MOOSES!!!

I thought that too! but we saw ours around 4pm on a sunny afternoon. They were very timid though, and soon took off as we slowly drove into the parking lot. There was only one other vehicle there, and that was unoccupied.
