Default Phone Cards (phoning home)

Hiya - we're coming over for a scouting trip/holiday tomorrow but after having some bad news at home we want to make sure we pick up one of those discount phone cards as soon as we get there so we can keep in contact with the in laws back home.

I know there's loads out there but just wondered if you guys can recommend a particular brand or any to avoid?

Thanks
Gill

we use the vox international one, and that works out fine. i think it costs about 45c to start then hardly anything at all. an hour phone call is only about a dollar.

Hi there ..

I think with some phone cards in Canada they are trial and error, my hubby has been calling me everyday since he arrived back in canada (May) and does so with phone cards, sometimes the reception on the phone is good and most of the time its awful.

I now ring him every night as Tiscali doesnt charge me for calling Canada .. Something for free ... its a miracle ..

Hope you find one that works for you ..

I use President's Choice phone card which you get at the check out in the supermarket - Loblaws or No Frills. You can get a $10 or $20 card.
To UK it cost 4.9 a minute. I use it all the time for long distance calls in N. America and overseas.

We have used one from Walmart, 4 cents per minute, and seem to last forever!
