Hi there,
I have applied for Canada Immigration in March 2001(Buffalo, NY). Got interview wavier and submitted FBI finger print card, required documents, Right of Landing fees in Sep 2001.
Appeared for Medical Examination on 23 of Oct 2001. Now I received a letter in Nov 2001 from Canadian Consulate that I need to attend a Personal Interview and the date of Interview is not finalized yet.
Can anyone let me know what could be the possible reason for scheduling the interview even after giving waiver and in this scenario how long would it take to be all set to move to Canada.
Thank You so much in advance,
Regards,
Kumar.

Looks like some discrepancies were discovered during the application process and you
will have to explain them at the interview. There is no way to even guess now when
process will end, as it may take several months for New York's consulate just to
schedule the interview.

You could be requested to attend interview for many reasons. It may be a security
issue or it could be a quality assurance interview. Where have you lived, Srilanka,
the Middle East, Afganistan, were you in the military or did you study in Eastern
Europe. If the intervew is to be in Buffalo chances are it is security related.

Hi James,
Thanks for the information. Right now I am in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. I have applied from US. Basically I am from India, and I am on H1B Visa. They said my file has to be transfered from Buffalo to New York, NY which has been done.
Can you please be more specific what a quality assurance interview is and what type of questions i can expect in the interview?
I once again thank you for your response.
Regards,
Kumar

assurance interview to confirm that the decision made by the immigration visa officer
was the correct decision int terms of the legiislation and that the information
