Purplemoose:

You wouldn't feel out of place in NS. We have lots of crazy accents here,
and mostly home grown. You'd especially like the South Shore where they
still don't pronounce their "R's". Come and visit Lunenburg and Bridgewatah
and you'll see what I mean.

Regards,

Please don't get me wrong, I have no problem with people not understanding me and I certainly don't expect everyone to, but to be ignorant and rude instead of asking me nicely to repeat myself? I get a lot of "Wha's?" with mouth's wide open or my favourite, them just walking off when I'm in mid-sentence because they can't be bothered to try and understand.

Thanks Homegrown, I love NS, it is like a breath of fresh air everytime we go as I do not have to worry about how I speak as I do not get the same kind of responses that I get here, I am looking forward to being able to live there soon .

Hi All,
Well i have been in PEI and the town of Cornwall just around the corner from Klink ( kerlynkeo) as we now call her for 9 months now. This is a great place to live on this side of the island and Charlottetown has a good mix of things that you can do and here is the BUT, But it's not a big city bright lights type of town thou it does have it's days when it has an event on of some sort and they do a good job too. We don't have masses of entertainment on tap like big show cinemas and super bowling alleys and the kind but then again it's not that sort of place either thou i have no doubt it will come in the future.
I like living here for it's slow pace and pretty much stress free lifestyle which is one of the reasons i came here. It does suit me as i'm not a person to be rushed on much, everything at my own pace kind of thing.
I have not had at any time had a rude encounter with anyone here so far or even other parts of Canada which i have travelled to but then i'm thick skinned and would just ignore them too. On the whole it's not a bad place to live and not really any different from the UK as for living costs, i think we are exploited with some of the prices we pay here because it is an Island and that they dont produce much other than potatoes and go fishing for fish etc which is still not that cheap even thou it is locally caught. You can get almost everything for the home and garden but having seen the prices that they pay on the mainland i think it would be better to save a large sum and do a super shop over a day or too to save a fare amount in the long run if you need to buy larger items or do a clothes shop and for a better variety of shops.
It is still a great place to live if you can stick the slow lifestyle and easy going attitude of most people. I have no complaints so far.

LOAFY...
