Default PCC from US

Hi All

I have applied for my Canadian PR in Nov 2001 with the CHC in Singapore. I lived in the US for abt 4 yrs a few yrs ago. Now my question is, how do I obtain a PCC from US. Can I apply for one in the US consulate in Singapore or do I have to send a request directly to FBI in the US. Also pls let me know how long does it typically take to obtain one if I have to directly apply with FBI in US and how long is a PCC valid.

Thanks in advance for any tips.

I applied to FBI for a PCC in the US in August 2001 and it took a little over 6 weeks
to get the results back. I believe that CIC considers PCC's valid for no longer than
6 months from the date of issue. Hope this helps.

and yes you do have to get one, one from every country you have lived in since the
age of 18 for more than 6 months. You should take a closer look cos i know in some
cases such as an inland sponsorship they require also a PCC from every state you
resided in while in the USA as well buti am not sure if that applies to indipendants
outside the USA or not.
