Hey Gary and Lisa
We started our process in April 09 having visited Canada a year ago tomorrow! We have applied under skilled worker as my husband is a chef and they are on the wanted list. We had our Passport request 2 weeks ago almost so the process has been very quick. Submitting all the application forms etc has gone smoothly which helps the process. We have no kids as yet. We have been waiting to get to Canada to start a family. We have a labrador that we are taking with us. We are going to Okotoks in Calgary as we have family and friends there which is nice as if we have any problems or feeling home sick we have people there. We have no jobs as yet but we have contacts and will start to apply once we get our passports back with visa's in. At least we can then say we have our visa's. You guys should definately apply once you are married. We applied after getting married, I think it makes the form filling and stuff that little bit easier. Seems like the process at the moment is really good and they are wizzing people through. What are you applying under? Where do you plan to go to. All the best and if you need any help with anything give me a shout, I may not be able to help but may be able to suggest something. Good luck on your forthcoming wedding too.
