Passport change

Passport change
Hey team!
Could anybody help me with this question I have!
I have been granted PR and have just got back (Australia) from a visit where I activated the visa. We are moving over in March, but between now and then I will need to renew my passport(British). Do I need to let them know of the change or can I simply just swap over and enter the country?
Any help would be great!

Do ypu have a PR card? If yes then dont worry about the passport change.
If no PR card then apply for one. Passport has no bearing on PR status.
If no PR card then apply for one. Passport has no bearing on PR status.
