PAL/NTSC MULTI REGION DVD CONVERTER - Problem Resolved.
#1
I have a large collection of UK PAL DVD's and having been looking into the best solution for taking them to Canada as I did not want to get rid of them. I have found a devise that converts PAL to NTSC in any region and plays it onto an NTSC TV. It also works the other way and can convert NTSC to PAL and play on a PAL TV (For Canadians/US coming to UK). It is also multi-voltage 110v or 240v so can be used in either continent without adaptors. The price is £39.99 + delivery. It is found on the following page and described as below.

Are you sure you looked at the right one? It is further down the page, not the top one which says it is out of stock. I bought one this afternoon so unless I bought the last one................

We recently bought a no name from the homeshow in Vaughn, it plays everything inclusing the ones we brought from the UK, and it only cost $49:99 Canadian.

Does your TV read both NTSC & PAL and convert automatically? Some do. I have been told that getting a TV like this is very expensive.

Hi there, just thought i would second that, we moved out here 10 months ago, brought our Goodmans portable DVD player & first off it would only play sound no picture so i went on the web to get a hack code & it plays all dvds now, region 1 & 2 etc. Also bought a NOVA dvd player here for under $60 & it is multiregional straight outta the box!! cool! You can easily get hack codes for most DVD players on sale here, just check b4 u buy.

Turned out a lot better to get dvds - we even get things recorded to dvd in the UK and they play fine..

Most dvd players available now convert NTSC to PAL and vice-versa, obviously yours does this. It wasn't always the case.
Applying a patch to allow the machine to play all dvds is something different.
Our Philips DVD player bought here converts the signals, but I had to apply a simple fix to make it non-region specific.
Our Philips DVD recorder (which we shipped from the UK) plays all DVDs from any region but does not convert the signal from PAL to NTSC. Hence a scrolling B&W picture.
