I consider myself quite well travelled and have noticed a distinct lack of "gravy" in lots of countries. U.S "country gravy" just isnt. Most countries will have a sauce or ju but it is not gravy. Again I make my own gravy using cubes to enhance the flavour. I do not use granules but know plenty of people who do. In the UK, I think it is a bit of a North/South thing too. When my southern niece came to stay, she had never heard of a pie dinner with gravy lol. And no that is not a Northern staple diet.:blink: |

Wow really? Why?
Whenever anyone comes over I get beef, lamb, chicken and veg oxo's (as well as instant Bisto mmmm). Cubes are much better than the pathetic sachets they sell here. |

Hi Sam - Superstore has just started selling PC brand Aged Cheddar and Onion crisps. Bought some at the weekend as DH is (was!) a huge Walkers Cheese and Onion fan .... they passed the test although he said they could have been a little bit more oniony. As someone who can take them or leave them I thought they were closer than anything else I have tasted here.
J :) Well I went to Nofrills in Okotoks (small version of the Superstore) to look for these crisps and they didn't have any  But they had chicken and beef oxo cubes  Next time I visit the Superstore I'll give these crisps a go Sam |

Re: oxo
How about Insane Clown Posse's song Piggy Pie?
I would've posted the youtube clip but I fear it might contravene Rule #2. Good song though, very old skool. :) |
