Default Our recce trip

I and my wife with our two kids aged 6 and 8 are planning to go on a recce trip to Toronto and Montreal in April 2011.

We would like to plan the trip ahead meticulously so that we get the maximum benefit out of it.

We tentatively decided to settle in Toronto. I have not looked for any jobs since I will be working for my current employer by then. My job as Project Engineering Manager will involve a lot of travelling back and forth to NY and Washington DC where offices of our business associates are located.

Initially, We decided to rent in Oakville, a town, 25 km west of Toronto. Then, I studied schooling system a little bit and noticed that French language education in Oakville is not as wide spread as it is in Toronto. In Oakville, the kids either start French Immersion at Grade 1 or at Grade 7. On the other hand in Toronto the kids who have missed to enroll to FI at Grade 1 have another chance at Grade 4 which suits us perfectly.

My question is what is the best way to spend our two weeks with our two children in Toronto ? We also plan to hire a car and drive to Montreal and spend a few days there. What is best tourist route to Montreal ? Which towns would you recommend that we see on our way to Montreal ?

Thanks for the insight.

In my expreince of visiting him the people in Guelph are really friendly and the have a great pub called the shakesphere which do the best chicken wings lol
