Smile Osteopath in saskatchewan

I have just joined this site, with advice from an old school friend who lives and works in Canada.
I wanted to know if anyone has any information regarding moving to Saskatchewan, in particular the Battlefords area. I know there are 3 chiropractors there, but only 1 osteopath in Saskatchewan in Regina (400km away).
Any information would be grateful as i love the country and love the winter weather (i know it sounds strange).
I have relations there but they dont know about the differences from UK to Canada.
Any help would be grateful.
John

Hi

We lived in North Battleford for 4 years, moved away last year, what kind of things do you want to know.
Please feel free to ask any questions

Hi there Martin, thanks for replying.Well i have relation who live in North Battleford (in the retail property).I am thinking of relocating there. I loved the winter time, i love the snow and the winter sports, as well as the open spaces. What are the chances of making a successfull carrer out in the Battlefords? As i say i am a qualified Osteopath.
What are the pitfals? and what should i be wary off?
Loads of questions but not sure how to ask them.I am off to a Canada Expo in the UK in 2 weeks time to see if there is any more info there.
Please let me know what i should be thinking about if i want to move out to the Battlefords.
Many thanks.
John

hi John
well if you like open spaces there's plenty of those about
you get lots of snow there, there's a small ski hill about 25 mins away and there's jackfish lake where a lot of people go in the summer

is it just you or do you have kids? we were ok for the first few years then we seemed to out grow it, we've got 2 kids and there wasn't enough to keep them occupied

It's actually a nice place but quite small and a bit limited on shopping, we had to go to saskatoon for some stores.

as for your career not sure on that, if there's only one in sk you mite do well

can't think of what else to say at the moment but if you have any more questions just shout, if you don't want to ask them on here just pm me

martin

Hi there Martin, i cannot send private reply as i have only posted 2 messages(it says i need 3).
Well i am single, 42 yr old, no kids and never married so i guess its just me. I have been up to White Swan Lake (past candle lake) for the fishing and snow mobiling and i absolutly love it. I also scuba dive and they have diving there as well, so i guess i am good for that.
I have been told yet again from my relations that i would make a decent wage, but i guess i am still skeptical, like any new things i life the brain tells you to hang on.
I am visiting a Canada Expo in Manchester (UK) in 2 weeks to ask people there about moving and relocating.
If you want to reply personally please send me a private pm and i will reply.
I have to say i have been in the winter and i loved it, i dont mind the cold i see it as a challenge.
I have been in the summer (20 years ago), and there are plenty of mosquitos, so i guess there are good and bad things.
Well i better get back to work.
Please reply and lets have a decent conversation.
Many thanks.
John
