Hi All
Does anyone know where we can buy Orange Squash or Ribena Light from, here in Canada.
We are getting withdrawal symptoms
As Wal-mart owns Asda in the UK, I was wondering if they will be able to ship me a couple of boxes over. Any ideas ???
Thanks
Tracey

Our local Safeway has just started selling orange squash - it's like the high-juice stuff you get in the UK. Canadian superstore has Ribena for an ok price, but not the light stuff. You can also get Rose's lime cordial there too...
I miss all the flavours you get back home, especially as the tap water here has a strange after taste to it

Thanks for that info, I will check our Safeway here, and If they have it I will wrap it up for hubby for Christmas
We Miss all the flavours too, and we have only been here 6 weeks. We were going to ask mum to send some over, but she may have problems with liquids
Cheers

Any visitors from the UK are not picked up from the airport unless they bring a bottle of ribena light, plus a few goodies from M&S.

The other thing you might want to try is the powder stuff - think it's called crystal light. You can get this in pretty much any supermarket... Is good for camping trips.

We use the powdered drinks or the frozen concentrates. You just have to buy a big pitcher and make it up and keep it in the fridge. The lemonade is really nice, especially the pink one (for some reason)
I believe it's much better to adjust to what the locals eat/drink than to pine for stuff that you were used to from the UK. You move to a different country, things are going to be different. Suck it up! (as they say)

You can buy normal orange squash that tastes pretty much like the stuff in England from Safeway supermarkets in the drinks mixers section, bizarely. Other than that we've not seen any cordials or squashes anywhere - they just don't do them here. Have got used to drinking lots of water though, which is probably lots better for you!

If you look in the freezer compartments in all the store, you'll see cans of frozen concentrate. Minute Maid, Five Alive etc etc. Usually around a dollar a can and it makes up 2 big jug fulls in our house.!
I find these are best and you can dilute however strong or weak you like. Only seen full sugar Ribena, not the light.
Superstore are the cheapest for that.

Thanks Guys
I am getting used to the drink here, but I am tending to go for the fizzy stuff, which is not good. But thanks for the info about the frozen concentrate, we will give that a try.
Have a great christmas

We buy Ribena from 'save on foods' Noticed in a flyer from Canadian Superstre they are going to do blackcurrant and pomegranite juice, might be worth a try

Took me the longest time to figure out that all the "squashes" were in fact in powdered "koolaid" or frozen carton "punch" form here.
Supermarkets around here carry regular ribena (about $6 for a smallish bottle) and roses lime and grenadine cordials, ive seen other mixers like that too. Not seen Light Ribena, I'll add it to the list with OXO cubes as the only brit foods truly MIA.
I used to drink squash all the time, but with frozen OJ so cheap, and actually tasting of oranges, I mostly just drink juice now instead.
For the kids in the summer we make jugs of koolaide...that way we can control the amount of sugar added. I make my own lemon cordial...its way better than anything you can buy in the stores!
All these jugs of punch, juice, koolaid, lemonade etc to make up...that's why North American fridges are bigger than the average spare room in the UK

We have a British shop in Calgary, they have Sainsburys High Juice, but at approx $8 a bottle we will continue to drink the frozen concentrate.
