Thanks for the help. Now, where can I buy me a degree in horticulture on the internet, from some spoof US university?

What's the going rate now? £40 for a BSc, and a further £50 for a PhD?

I wouldn't even agree that that works for me. I find living here on slightly less than my UK equivalent salary, my standard of living is probably lower. I say probably cos I own a house here and not a flat, but I definately don't wear designer clothes anymore, and I can't afford four weeks in South East Asia like I used to. Come to think of it I can't afford four weeks anywhere.

I also no longer drink in the places to be. I'd typically spend over 100 pounds on a Saturday night in London and I couldn't consider doing that here.

These days I shop at Winners, and won't darken the door of Holts. Ah plus ca change or whatever I also used to go to NY shopping. Can't take off and do that here either... Oh heck why am I still here....

My only concession to a lifestyle of profligate spending is spending four times the amount that an identical bra would cost in the UK. And that's with a UK/CAD conversion in there too...

I have been to NS on vacation only, at least until i get visa, and have always halved everything, the way tourists do....

So if i was earning £20,000 gbp per annum would this then be translated into $20,000 canadian dollers per annum?

Not sure if i am understanding this?

Hi Destinationnovascotia

What do you mean by "Its Rubbish". Can you explain please. Am i still supposed to halve everything as i first thought!! i.e £20,000 GBP being approximately $10,000 C/dollers etc.

I would be grateful for your take on this, as i will need to know in regards to what my salary may be so i can work out my expenses and what i need to live on in NS, when i get over there.

Many thanks

Emmjay
