We stayed at the Quaich at Oakfield which is a B&B with apartments and owned by a British couple.

Here's the website: http://www.thequaichbandb.ca/

Hope this helps.

Julie & Paul from the Quaich have returned to UK, the b&B is now being managed by someone else although Julie & Paul still own it.

The Kaulbauh house in lunenburg is a b&B owned by an English couple from derby. I have stayed there and it is very nice. They are a very nice chatty couple in there early sixties. If you contact them I an sure they will give you the lowdown on it all.

Chatty owners are the main thing I dislike about "B&Bs" and why won't stay in one. Give me the anonymity of a nice hotel over somebody's potpourrified and twee country house any day.

Have they? I'm sorry to hear that, they seemed quite settled when we stayed there a couple of years ago. It was a lovely place to stay (apart from the odd aeroplane or two!) though we didn't stay in the B&B - they also have a couple of apartments, though one of them was almost as big as my old house!!

remember that the tourist season in Nova Scotia is only from July through October, which means two thirds of the year you have no income from your business....
There is a reason why A LOT of B&Bs are for sale here.. (by the way the "KAulbach House is one of them)
