Default Open Work Permit

From reading the pages on the web about work permits I understand that it will be possible for my wife and son, who is a dependant, to work with an open work permit when they arrive in Canada. I have checked and we meet all the criteria necessary to apply for them. We are planning to apply for these at port of entry, but to make the process quicker the day we arrive would like to fill out the open work permit forms before we leave. I am having difficulty finding an open work permit application form on the CIC and High Commission pages. I am not really sure as it is not made clear if the form I need to fill out is the same as the normal temporary work permit form or is their a separate/different one.
Thanks for you help.

Hi the form is the same one that you fill out for normal twp, however if you are applying at POE then you probably wont need any forms all they usually look for is your job offer letter and LMO and of course money...not sure about dependant son as this is new, we got 2 study permits for kids and they cost us nothing.

Best of luck with everything

The immigration will need a copy of you contract and you LMO, then you ask for a work permit for your wife and son cost 125 Canadian dollars each, there is an exchange there but is best to get the money changed before you land makes things easier.

If your flying into Toronto inform the first Immigration Officer you are here under the SINP program and you need your work permit he or she will send you to another office(far right of the building) where they issue work permits, have all paperwork ready, Contract, LMO, Resume(CV), references they might not even bother with all that just your Contract and you LMO, depends on the Immigration Officer some are anal others are more open and understanding, I got a great guy who helped wonders.

If your son doesn't get a work permit at the airport go and see your local Immigration Office and they will help you out. Canadians just wana help its great, only complaint is they drive light MAD PEOPLE lol.

Good Luck
