OPEN HOUSE DISASTER
#16
i've tried 'open houses' in the uk before....even way back in the early 90's.....just not a uk thing, as they produce very little responce and in truth, i think people in the uk just don't like 'sharing' their viewing time with others.....i've even attended 'block viewings' of auction properties; that doesn't work either, as everyone walks around in complete silence......
we're in the same position as you though; trying desperatley to sell our house to be able to get on our way to canada......keep going; you know the reasons why your doing all this hard work and one day, in the not too distant future, you'll be in your new home in canada......what's another few months to wait, when you've come this far......good luck xx

We did 2 open houses in the same house. The first one no-one turned up, the second one we had a queue in the kitchen waiting for the tour. Publicity was the key. The first one the people on the estate agents list were notified, a sign was put up and a line put on the press ad. The second one we did a double ad 2 weeks running offering incentives such as a possible part-ex or stamp duty paid.
We had 3 offers, the first one we accepted fell through but we complete on the second next week.
