One-day trip to Niagara Falls
Hi
We were thinking before arrival of our first baby, use the last chance we have and before we go crazy busy, at the end of May, take a one-day trip to Niagra falls. Wife is 7-month preg. by that time. We live in Toronto.
Do you have any experience to share with us?
Thanks,
Raska

If it not available it may restrict the full impact of your trip, if the trip to the falls isn't available.

We really enjoyed Niagra, we also crossed the rainbow Bridge to America - just a small cost I think it was $6us in 2004. After the hustle and bustle of the Canadian side it was amazingly peaceful and tranquil on the American side. The queues for the Maids in the Mist was also MUCH shorter and the boat less crowded and the attraction of walking into the mist (can't think what it's called) is good too. We will certainley go back to Niagra - we want to see it all frozen too. Have a lovely day.

this is more for your wife - Niagra is built on a bloody big hill, with all the fast foods and touristy things ie Ripleys. don't know what parking will be like, but that hill will be hard to get up at 7 months pregnant

Re: One-day trip to Niagara Falls
I live here in Niagara falls, there are lots of things to do that don't involve walking up Clifton hill. As others have said, doing Maid of the Mist is a must. I think we will have to take the kids before we leave town. I think they start running in April through to October. The butterfly conservatory is very interesting, but like most things, if you visit in the summer, there will be line ups. Niagara On The Lake is very historical. I suggest you do the wine tour to the several wineries. You can also have a very excellent dinner at many of the wineries. Your wife won't be able to drink and could do all the driving.

Thanks to all your inputs.
Since We haven't got the citizenship yet and we are still in the obligatory 3-year waiting period (to be eligible to apply for the citizenship), we prefer not to take any risk to leave Canada even for a couple of hours

Re: One-day trip to Niagara Falls
Hello!
Niagara is lovely in May, all the tulips. I was 7 months pregnant when my husband and I went to the Falls. It isn't that bad going while pregnant, although watching the view sometimes from a bench was nice
We did a package deal, as it seems to be the best deal in Niagara. 2 Night Packages...We have seen most of the hotels, and really like, The Brock Hotel, it can be a bit more money off season,(and on weekends/holidays but truly a nice one, the restaurant you get to eat in, is at the top of the Hotel. What a view, take your camera!!
Also, check the Toronto paper on Wednesdays, they have all the toll free #'s for most of the Hotels. It includes; dinner for one evening and 2 breakfasts each morning, and most hotels have a pool, so having 2 days gives you a really nice break to see everything and take your time....plus a swim, your wife will appreciate that one, as weightlessness, is wonderful in pregnancy
Have a nice time!
