old queue - medical requests?
#1
Hi There
I'm feeling the need of a little reassurance, boost, a need to see the light at the end of the tunnel!
God i'm feelin sorry for myself! Get to the point girl...anyone from the old system had a medical request recently? i am almost 5 months since submitting documents, ( applied march 2007 ). Keep trying to stop myself browsing on here, looking on MLS & finding out everything there is to know about Canada, so i can put it out of my mind. But I can't! ARGGGHHHh! I need to move on!!!
Nothing seems to be moving on trackitt, may be they've reached there quota for 2009. Just a thought, dripping us through painfully slowly over the next 10 years!! What Joy.
Sorry for the moan but anyone out there who can lift my spirits!!
Thank you
Justie

Waiting has always been the hardest part for us in the 'old' queue, but hey, at least we've had two years cut off the wait time!

Hi there
we went through the old route - sent original application in in Nov 2006, requested docs in Feb 2009 - we sent them back end of April 2009 (I think) and went for medicals Sept 2009, and had request for passports and photos a couple of weeks ago for them to put our visa in!
So probably 5-6 months between sending in all the details and being requested to go for medicals.
Are you going it alone or do you have people working for you - we did it alone and the waiting drove me mad - I couldn't even log onto the process checker to see where it was at as it never recognised our file number.
Be patient (easier said than done I know!)

Thank you for your replies, it is good to hear others experience, you start to lose sight of there ever being an end. I'm not sure any time has been knocked off our predicted wait of 36 - 42 months due to the new system. Its not so much the waiting but not knowing actually how long you could be in limbo for. There is one thing for sure being in the queue has given us plenty of time to make sure it is the right move.
Thanks again

Hi Justie,
We are on the old FSW,
Applied November 2006
AOR 26 February 2007
Request for Documnets 19th November 2008
Documents Sent 20th Feb 2009
Medical Request 14th August 2009
Medicals Taken 28th September 2009
Waiting for the Yeah or Neah
I checked in the Trackiit web site and from what I can gather the average time after medicals are submitted is between 4 and 6 weeks before the request for passports are issued. This of course is based on whether you have a straight forward application. if there are any medical issues it could be longer as the information will have to go to Ottawa for review.
Regards
Sean

Hi Sean
Thanks very much. I think panic sets in and you start to think your case is going to turn into one of those that goes no where, waiting months and months at every stage for them then to turn you down in the end. Nightmare.
It must feel so good when youv've reached the last hurdle like you guys have.
Good luck with it all.
