Here's a link to the monthly averages for Vernon.

http://climate.weatheroffice.ec.gc.c...s=&StnId=1065&

One for daily highs and lows for this month so far: http://climate.weatheroffice.ec.gc.c...&Month=1&Day=1
Other months and years available by change the boxes at the top of the table.

I can't find any news reports but the Okanagan valley has recently gone through a prolonged period of very low cloud (200'-600' above ground) that has forced cancellation a numerous commercial flights in and out of Kelowna for the last week.

Here's one news report from this mornings Kelowna Daily Courier http://www.kelownadailycourier.ca/st....php?id=159022

Although low cloud and/or valley fog is reasonably common at this time of year in the Okanagan this week it was unusually bad.

Hi I am in Summerland about 50 miles south Vernon, this year has been one of the worst for weather on record loads snow and recently low fog, some of the people that have lived here all there lives are telling us it’s the worst one they can remember.
The weather is usually not bad at all but being in a valley we often get low mist that comes of the warmer temperature of the water in the lakes. Vernon is usually a few degrees colder than the south Okanagan though and has more snow and rain but still much better than the UK
