Hello there!
I had brought up this query on my "income tax" thread, but because of the title, I wasn't sure if anyone would take note of this new query that came about as a result of that thread...
My question is: has anyone managed to get OHIP coverage while their PR application is "in process"? Specifically, spousal "outside Canada" class?
I have not had confirmation that my medicals are satisfactory for the purposes of landing as a PR yet, but I have had the medical done and it has been received at CHC London.....
I am currently on the Bunac 1 year open work permit visa which does NOT allow me OHIP coverage.
Any insight/tips as to how I would get OHIP coverage would be gratefully received!!
Thanks a lot!
Louisa

Forgive me if I am wrong, but I think the 'approval in principle' only relates to the "inland" PR applications...?
Therefore, I don't fall into that category
Do you think it is worth (or has anyone had the audacity here to ask or grovel) CHC London to write up a letter saying that I am in process of PR application and have passed medicals? Do you think they would get off their bums and actually write a letter to that effect?
I hate to be a worry wart, but I really hate being here without the proper health coverage. What I do have is a "visitors to Canada" coverage, which means in the event of an emergency, they fly me back to Blighty and sort me out there, but that runs out shortly too!
Anybody out there who has OHIP or got OHIP in my situation??
Thanks again!
