Office Manager/Executive PA looking for a job!

Re: Office Manager/Executive PA looking for a job!
just wanted to share a positive story on my job search, as I hadn't expected it to run that smoothly here in North America.
I applied for a job that I had seen in an online job bank 3 weeks ago (with a US company). I wanted it really badly, so I spend some time checking out their website, their mission and so on...
I re-wrote my CV to highlight my experience so it did match their requirements. I spent about 3 hours writing a cover letter, and it was not a long one.. I just tried to hit the right note. I didn't want it to sound fake and I wasn't finished until it felt right. I emailed it and had an answer one hour later, a phone interview a few days later and then they asked for references. After they called one of them, I got the job offer yesterday and I am very excited about it...
it's only an entry position, but it's a company I have always wanted to work for, so I hope it will get me further in the long run.

I disagree, if you are applying on spec it is even more important that you tailor your resume to the employer's needs.

If it is an American company, are you working remotely?

no, not remotely, on contract in a different place (I work in tourism, I have to go where the people are)

With the exception of their website and their vision - what else is going to enable you to know what they require within the job.
Can I just check...these keywords that I keep hearing are these what companies use within their vision, objectives etc and their requirements within job description?

Actually I was asking a question and forgot to put a question mark so there was nothing to disagree about as I wasn't making a statement...

If your avoid large companies and stick with smaller companies, your resume is more likely to be seen by a human, larger the company less likely humans are screening the resumes.

Use as many of the same words in your resume as the company uses in the job positing. Companies using screening software will search resumes based on what is in the posting, if your resume doesn't contain enough, it gets dumped and never seen by a human.
