Off to Nova Scotia....at last.

Hi everyone
well this is probobly the last evening that we can use the computer before the packers come in tomorrow. Then Friday morning at 05.55 courtesy of Zoom we are off to Halifax and a new life.
It's been a long and bumpy ride for 2 1/2 years since we first decided to go (originally to Ontario).Three visits, a lot of money and quite a few grey hairs later we are off.I would like to thank all the members of this forum for your information, humour and inspiration the last couple of years.
(Hopefully) we will complete on our house build on friday and move in by the afternoon,a quick visit to atlantic superstore and we will be home (just no beds)
Along the way you learn by your mistakes, make friends, certainly learn more about yourself and the motivations that drive you.If i had to advise anyone who was about to start out on this long, long process is that it will happen if you really want it and that no amount of planning and research goes to waste.I think we know more about Canada now than we know about the U.K.
it's not living there of course but all you can do is prepare as best you can.
Once we get settled and we're back on the internet we will try and recount our experiences.Until then good luck to you all in all your ventures.
Mike,Orla,James and Dominic.

Cool. Bet you're excited. Looks like the weather should be improving by the weekend. We've all had some seriously wet times the last week or so.

Best of luck! You've had those avatar beers on ice for a while now...time to crack them open?!
We're also off on Friday, will give you a wave mid-atlantic if I spot your plane

I am totally jealous and envious, wishing it was me!![selfish git that I am!!]
I know this is not a good time to ask, but why did you choose NS? Just curious, that's all, but it's just that I have come to the same conclusion, and I was wondering why you chose it?
Wishing you all a safe and prosperous journey.
Scouse.

Good luck Mike
Shame you wasn't here last weekend. I had UKJo and hubby and Ian and Kerri over for a BBQ. It was raining but still we all had a good evening.
Still you must come over for the next Expats BBQ.

you probably won't get this message now until up unpack the other end. Good luck with everything, can't wait to hear from you when you settle in to your new house. We shouldn't be too long behind you. Get that Barbie warmed up for us!!

Congratulations. Hope the trip went well and you can now start getting settled into your new home.
It is so good to hear about people who have made it through the process and come out the other side ...and in Nova Scotia! We are waiting for our Requests for Medicals (hopefully sometime this month, the postie has been primed what to look out for!). Then things can kick into motion big time. Hopefully we will be heading to Nova Scotia late summer.
Look forward to reading your accounts of how things have gone/are going.
