NVQs ?!?
Hi, I'm a catering manager/ chef and have been for over 16 years, will my qualifications (NVQ 3 x 2) and experience be recognised in VI, or will I need to resit exams??
I have searched through wiki but can't find a clear answer or I'm just being dumb
we arrive in two weeks so any help before I go knocking on doors would be great
Thanks
Glynis

Generally NVQs in my industry aren't worth the paper they are written on!

There is some info in the Wiki, although it's fairly limited - http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Equiva...Qualifications

It seems that for many jobs they want degrees. I dont think they know what an NVQ even is

Alberta have a booklet on UK qualification recognition - it may be of use:

Hi Luvmeboys,
I can only speak about my own experience as in going through the NS Community Identified route.
I have a SVQ 3 in Petro-Chemical Process Control which is the Scottish equivalent to a NVQ 3,these qualifications are HND comparable and are an acceptable qualification.
Well the one I did was acceptable,I suppose It depends on the content of the course you do.
