Re: NS Utilities
It's always wise to order wood early in the spring and then stack it properly so that it will season and be dry enough for a good burn next winter. Beware, there are some suppliers who are notorious for ripping people off by short measure. Know what the difference between a face cord and a bush cord is. A bush cord is a stacked pile 4' x4' x8'. A face cord is 4' x 8' x 16" or 18". It comes in different lengths too. 16' or 18" are probably the most common. Know what suits your fireplace or stove best. The most common wood type is maple but yellow birch is also good. I don't know who the bad guys are but there have been numerous stories about them in The Herald. Maybe a quick look at their archive would tell you. Most dealers will not deliver less than two cords without a surcharge, at least not in Truro. Ciao.
