Job wise - you have to network for many jobs to have a chance. Some jobs are harder to obtain than others - police, teachers are two which spring to mind easily.
Houses - can be large and affordable BUT the most affordable are in the areas where there are less jobs.
Transport links - really you need a car unless you live in a city or town. Halifax has public transport, towns such as Truro allow you to walk to where you need to be.

Fab thanks....
We are unsure about a lot of things ATM as we really don't know anywhere never been to Canada but my uncle lives in Vancouver but have heard this is expensive and we would like to stand the best chance for jobs and houses' my partner drives and has a full uk lice se how would this change?
I am also worried what happens if he gets granted a visa and I don't

That will depend on his visa, and whether you are common-law partners - have you lived together for a year or more? If so, you'd be a dependent on his visa and would also get one. Whether you can work on it or not will depend on his job and the province you end up in.

Fine, but as per my post above, have you lived together for a year or more? That's the crucial bit, and if so, you'll qualify as his common-law spouse so go on his visa application as a dependent.
Again, it will depend on whether you are common-law partners and if so, his visa, the job and the province.
If you are not common-law partners (have lived together as husband and wife for a year or more and can prove it via things like joint bank account, utility bills in both names, insurance, etc) then no, you wouldn't be able to get a visa with him and would need to qualify for one yourself.
If you are common-law partners, then you would get a visa, but you may not be able to work on it depending on various factors (his job/province as above).
Does that clarify it for you now? I would really, really suggest you read the Wiki - follow the link in my signature which will explain how to find it and how to use the forum. That will give you the answers to most of your questions.

Yes lived together since 2008 so I would get a visa as his spouse just to confirm but it would depend on him getting a job

See post no. 6 again. In the eyes of CIC, somebody you have lived with for a year or more in a 'marriage like' relationship. So you'd be his common-law partner, and be able to go on his visa application.
But whether you can work or not will depend on his job and the province, so don't assume you will be able to.
And if you are going down the Working Holiday Visa route, then you'll each need one.

Depending on the visa you come over will depend whether you can work or not. NS is large so a lot will depend on what type of job you are looking for and where jobs are. careerbeacon.com would be a good starting point in regards jobs . mls.ca would be good for houses. Cost of living will depend on your outgoings and what you want out of life
We didn't want to be near Halifax so ended up 2 hours from there. Hubby is luck to work from home and I am lucky that as a nurse there is a depend in most places all over NS
