Nova Scotia recce - we're here!!
Apologies for all those not in NS (it seems there are alot of NS threads here at the moment!).... We're here on a 2 week recce (arrived Thursday) and are staying just outside Dartmouth. Already been to meet up with Lorna & Rob (thanks guys - great to meet up at last) and are hoping to see Spaceace soon (friend from school - bloody small world!!!) ...
Viewing some properties in Fall River later today and off into Halifax for the day tomorrow. With two young children in tow (almost 4 and 16 months), just wanted to know some suitable play-areas / things to do for the kids. Obviously we're here to check out areas (Hammonds Plains, Tantallon, Bedford, Porters Lake on the list so far) but really want to make sure we get the balance right to keep the children happy too. All (sensible!) suggestions gratefully received
Thanks in advance and if anyone is around and wants to meet up for coffee just drop me a PM.
Cheers,
Chobert (Chris & family)

Enjoy! We had a fab time in NS but were in different areas than you so cant really help that much with the play area question. If you go to Truro at all Victoria Park is very nice.
To be honest, when we looked around Fall River for a park for the same reason, we struggled to find one, but that was just driving by which wasnt very helpful.
Hope you have a great recce!

My four year old loves the playpark in Halifax Commons - it has the best play equipment we've found and would be good for a toddler too. He also loved going out on Theodore tugboat - he went with his grandma so I don't know about it in detail but she liked seeing the area from the water and it seemed like they gave lots of information.

Halifax Harbour Hopper - expensive but good fun Gives a tour of the city on land and water.
Agree with Halifax Commons park, it's great for kids. There's a great park in Bedford called Lions Park, right on the ocean and also Dewolf park which is a childrens pirate ship park.

I'm on the South Shore near Chester, don't know much about Halifax and surrounding areas but just wanted to say 'enjoy your visit'
It's a fantastic place

lol Chris, i remember Spaceace saying he had found an old school friend on here who was moving over - bloody small world eh !
My boys are a bit bigger so not too sure what there is for smaller children, but whilst the weather is good I'd say make the most of it.
Good luck with the house hunting
Michelle xx
