We are finally moving to Nova Scotia end of July!! Hooray!! We are hoping to live in Dartmouth as that is where Nic's job is based. So far trying to pin down a property is a nightmare, spending everynight on Kijiji, amd various other sites! Also once we find somewhere to live (going to rent for the first 12 months or so) need to sort schools. We are also taking our two shelties with us.
Any tips that anyone may have will be grately appreciated! Tracey

I'm sure the masses of Brits living there will be along shortly to advise in more detail.

Hi Paul,
We were thinking about living more on the outskirts such as Lawrence Town/ Porters Lake those sort of areas. We have found a place in Hammonds plains (also considering the option of the otherside of Halifax) but not available until Sept 1st. Do have a large tent, guess we could live in that for awhile!!!

We're moving to the Porters Lake area when we move over later this year (all well & good), it's lovely all around there.
BTW, shelties are great at agility - ever thought of giving it a try.
If you're on Facebook get yourself on 'BE's of Nova Scotia' - lots of us on there

I do indeed know Shelties are good at agility. My mum has won a few competitions with one of hers. Would love to do it! Just haven't had the chance so far!

If you are working in dartmouth then stick to plan to live in porters lake, lake echo or lawerence town rather than hammonds plains. We live in porters lake and it is a very nice picturesque trip into dartmouth much easier than coming from other side of the water.just give a shout if you need any info

If you are working on the Dartmouth side of the harbour it is more hassel diving across the bridge each day for work if you live Halifax.
Loads of nice places over this side of the harbour but I would avoid the Pestons.

If you get serious about us renting Sarah, let me know!!! We are hoping to find somewhere in Porters Lake, Lawrence Town, Cole Harbour area. Nic's job is in Dartmouth although he'll be working from home for the time being. If anyone hears of something in these areas would they mind letting us know please? Would appreciate any help we can get!! Must be pet friendly, minimum three bedrooms, two bathrooms.
Thanks everyone! Look forward to meeting you all when we get over, roll on August
