Does anyone have experience of good driving instructors in the Halifax area of Nova Scotia ( Bedford ). I have been driving on my UK licence for the 90 day period allowed for new residents but must now take the driving test.
I have just completed a 1500KM drive to the Avalon Peninsular in Newfoundland but would still like a couple of lessons to learn a few points about the test.
I can recall a post by Grumpyhaggis suggesting this was something that should be considered before taking the test.
Thanks a lot

i agree the test in very straightforward, the assesment lesson is really just a way to gain confidence for someone who has been driving a long time in Uk and wants to know if there are any specific things that need to be changed in the way they drive . Some people are not confident drivers to begin with .
being tested can be nerve warcking for some people especially when it goes hand in hand with emigrating .

Just for my 2 cents, having been in Canada nearly 3 years I thought it was time to sit my test (lived down town and didn't need a car until recently), I sat mine at the Halifax shopping center and passed fine.
The examiner was 'to the point' but friendly, the test lasted about 15 minutes, my only advice would be to keep an eye out for signs and act accordingly, I know it sounds obvious but I think the test routes are designed to make sure you are looking, seeing and reacting appropriately .
Good luck
