Nova Scotia

Hi, i have just joined this forum today, having a look around i didn't see anything about emigrating to Nova Scotia. I know this is not a popular area to move to, but we visited in feb and loved it. It helps i have a sister who lives there(married to canadian). I lived in calgary for a year, my sister lived in calgary and canmore for nearly 15 years. We are going through pr process and still waiting for our next step, medical date, file opened on 13 jan this year, anyone have any idea how long it will take for next stage? We are also using a immigration agency based in london, who are very helpful.
When we were there in feb, my husband went for interview with big tanker company and told he could get a job there when we go, the boss also wrote a letter for immigration, but because not goverment reconised job offer it won't make our application go any faster, but going to somewhere, (where not as many emigrate to), we thought it might move that bit faster. Does anyone have any experience of moving to NS?:)

Actually, Nova Scotia does seem to be one of the more popular places in Canada in which to move. You just have to go back in the records a little further and you will see posts on Nova Scotia.

By the way, what did you think of Calgary?

Yep, we're planning on Nova Scotia, the main appeal for me is that it's a pretty short flight home if neccessary. However, these latter post about the evil flying critters are adding to my doubts.
Y'know, all this long waiting business is really just to test our resolve, I'll bet loads of applicants change ther minds during this period - I suppose this is a new thread, sorry!

Trishie, not to worry about the little flying critters....you get used to them in the end, it is a lovely province and very friendly. I hope you got my email I sent you.
Well I am off to UK tomorrow so hope the weather is nice there....I will be checking in to see how things are going though!

Hi there,

What excellent idea Liftman, lets all go to NS. I can't wait to go, but looks like we won't get there till this time next year. Still waiting for medical date. Have a good trip in September, remember to have look at fall river area.:)

Just dropping in to say greetings from England....we had a good trip. We flew with Zoom and it really wasn't that bad. We the food wasn't terrific but the seats we good enough for long legs.
Weather is lovely, not sure how long it will last though. Went to a car boot sale and got sunburned. Had a very interesting flight from Gatwick to Plymouth, interesting tosee everyone waving from there windows as we flew by!!!! One thing I noticed was all the roofs were the same colour and all the houses all looked the same...could have been Stepford....LOL
We had Pasties for lunch and tomorrow it is.......Fish and chips....yum!

Quite aside from the Barbie Beer fest, you'll never guess what happened t'other day?...... I took the dog for her usual jabs at the villiage vets, brought up the subject of flying the little honey out to NS, he only told me that he works every summer out at the Falls River Veterinary Practice - talk about small world!

Hey Corky can I come too?

Have PM'd you with our details.

Melton Mobray? I always thought everyone craved Cadbury's Dairy Milk out there. Last time my husband went he had to bring out a box load of Chocolate Digestives - any requests?
