Not much longer!!!!

Well at long last we are just about to exchange contracts, that is if our solicitor and the land registry (who have provided a plan which bears no resemblance at all to the one with our deeds) get their acts together. Our buyer is ready to exchange but his solicitor wont budge until the right piece of paper (which we have given to the buyer) is received from our solicitor. So once that is done we will be exchanging and hopefully moved out by the end of July. OMG how scary does that feel after living here for over 30 years.
Our youngest daughter (18) has gone very quiet on us and from what I could get out of her this morning the reality has suddenly hit her that we may actually be going! OH finds it difficult to delegate and is doing so much on his own and keeps going into a trance. I have told him he has to give me a list of what he wants me to do so that I can be doing something constructive and not just holding his hand.
My mother, bless her, is still throwing little barbs our way, she still thinks of calgary when she was there in the 50's and was rather shocked to learn that they do in fact have a University, where I myself worked for a short while in the mid 60's.
Fell out with my sister last September and havent spoken to her since (her decision not mine) - no great loss. Fell out with brother over the same thing but he is mature enough to still be talking to me. So leaving my family at the moment doesnt seem too painful. Leaving my other daughter behind is another thing and that will hit us hard.
My husband doesnt have much family, only one aunt and some cousins, and they all seem very keen to visit us. Hopefully some of the many people who say they will visit will actually do so.
My kitchen cupboards have never been so tidy, why did I hoard so much rubbish! The charity shops have been doing very well, and getting a dab hand on Ebay!! OH has managed to clear out one corner of his garage and it broke his heart to throw things out. We even found a pair of tyre chains in a hessian sack and those he does intend taking with him! (what on earth did he need those for in this country I ask myself)
We hope to have a flying visit over as soon as contracts have exchanged and have already a list of properties (acreages west of calgary) we want to view - daughter got rather stressed out at the site of trees around the properties and is worrying herself silly over meeting a bear in the garden - cannt tell her not to be silly it wont happen, because it might just!!
There are just not enough hours in the day to do everything, but we will get there, and hopefully then my stomach will stop churning.
